Offline Printing

Design offers flexible printing options that fall primarily into offline mode. In Offline mode, the required job files are transferred to the printer via a storage device such as a USB stick and stored in the printer’s memory for future use.

It is necessary to transfer the job file or files to the required printer or printers and use the features of the printer to transfer the job file to the printer’s memory. Once in memory the job file can be retrieved and printed upon demand.

Please consult your printer’s documentation to understand its file management capabilities and processes required to transfer the job file from the storage device to the printer.

If Design is used to modify the job file then the job stored in the printer will need to be replaced with the new job to pick up the changes. Furthermore, the new job will need to be re-selected for printing at the printer interface.

Extracting CIFF File from ZJF zip File

If your printer does not recognise the new Job format used by Design, you can manually change the format to the old Job format.

This is done by right clicking the new Job file and selecting 7-Zip >Open Archive. Once open, you need to copy the ciff file into a Jobs directory on the USB stick and then follow the instructions in the printer manual to import the Job from USB.

If you do not have 7-Zip to open the archive, you should use an alternative Zip Extraction tool to access the ciff file.
